4,500 fans feasted on 2.5 tons of the tastiest cuts from Bluff Meat Supply, expertly prepared by Artizen Restaurant & Lounge; Mashamplanez; Comfort Zone Jazz Cafe; Nsimbini Lifestyle; and Take It Easy Chicken Dust.
Performances by 23 local artists created an electric Saturday experience at South Africa’s fastest growing cultural event. Hosted by Pearl Thusi, the line up included Riky Rick, Big Nuz, and Unathi.
The event also honoured five top township KZN butchers for their contribution to the industry – some representing over 35 continuous years in the meat industry, and many of whom sell in excess of 70 tons of meat per month. The butchers were: Izwelethu Butchery, Hlope Butchery, Nkomose Butchery, Umlazi Plaza Butchery Group, and Kenterton Butchery.
The 2017 event was a huge success and we’d like to thank all the sponsors and businesses involved: Spritiual Vodka, Ukhozi FM, Durban Tourism, Red Meat Industry Forum, Bluff Meat Supply, Savanna, and Pongracz.
The 2018 stage is set, with the Festival scheduled for two days, 1 – 2 September, back at Eyadini Lounge.
